Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information MC Construction Design collects through this website, why we collect it, and how long we keep it.
Who we are
MC Construction Design is a general contractor based in Vaughan, ON, serving Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. We are the organisation responsible for the personal information collected through https://www.mcconstructiondesign.ca.
What we collect
We only collect what you enter into the contact form: your first and last name, email address, phone number (optional), and the project details you write. Alongside those we collect what you tell us about the job itself — project type, city, property type, budget range, timeline, and how you heard about us.
Everything except your name, email and a short description of the project is optional. Leaving a question unanswered does not stop your enquiry from reaching us; we ask because a budget range and a timeline let us give you a useful answer on the first call instead of a generic one. Nothing else on this site asks you for personal information — there is no account, no newsletter sign-up and no login.
When you submit the form we also process your IP address for a short period. It is used only to stop the same sender from flooding the form and to run the anti-spam check described below. It is not stored with your enquiry, is not used to identify you, and is discarded automatically once the short rate-limiting window has passed.
Our analytics providers also record usage data that is not tied to your name or email: which pages are visited, roughly which region the visit came from, which site referred you, and which actions were taken — a phone number being tapped, the contact form being started or submitted. We record that these things happened, never what you typed.
Why we collect it
To respond to your enquiry, prepare an estimate and contact you about your project. We do not sell your information, we do not share it with other contractors, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who processes it
- Resend— delivers the form submission to our inbox and sends you a confirmation copy. Your submission passes through Resend’s servers.
- Cloudflare — protects the contact form from automated spam. When you submit the form, Cloudflare Turnstile runs a background check to confirm a person is sending it and receives your IP address, browser type and a one-time token to do so. Turnstile does not use cookies to track you across websites and is not used for advertising.
- Vercel — hosts this website and provides its privacy-friendly analytics. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamp) are created when you load a page, as with any website.
- Google Analytics 4 — tells us which pages bring enquiries and calls, so we know where to spend our advertising budget. Google receives your IP address (which it truncates before storing), device and browser type, approximate location at city level, referring site, and the events described above. Google Analytics is not enabled on every deployment of this site; where it is enabled, it sets cookies as described below.
- Our email provider — your enquiry lands in our business mailbox and stays there as part of our project records.
- WhatsApp (Meta)— only if you choose to message us there. Tapping the WhatsApp button opens the app with a message already typed; nothing is sent until you send it. From that point the conversation is handled by WhatsApp under Meta’s own privacy terms, not ours. We record that the button was tapped, not who tapped it.
These providers may process or store data outside Canada, including in the United States. Information stored in another country may be accessible to that country’s law enforcement under its own laws.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become projects are kept for up to two years, in case you come back to us. If we work together, your contact details form part of the project record and are kept for seven years to meet standard business and tax record-keeping practice. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.
Cookies
This site sets no advertising cookies and does not follow you across other websites. Vercel Analytics runs without cookies entirely.
Where Google Analytics is enabled, it sets its own first-party cookies (_ga and related) to tell a returning visit from a new one. They expire after up to two years and are used only to produce aggregate reports about this website.
You can opt out of Google Analytics on every website you visit by installing Google’s browser opt-out add-on. Blocking cookies in your browser settings, or using a browser that blocks trackers by default, has the same effect here. Nothing on this site stops working if you do — the contact form and phone links behave exactly the same.
Your rights
Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a correction, or ask us to delete it. Write to info@mcconstructiondesign.ca and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
